- Accounting major
- Senior eligible for a Masters Program
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Capable of excelling in individual and team projects
Schedule
The internship program will follow a schedule of 20-40 hours per week depending upon your personal availability and our office needs. You will earn an hourly salary based upon your qualifications.

Program Outline
Orientation: Spend the first week learning the basics of our organization.
- Network structure
- Various software packages
- Policies and Procedures
- Meeting with Directors (Overview of Divisions)
- Managing Partner (Mission & Values)
Shadow High-Level Professionals
You will work with all levels from staff accountant to partner on client engagements.
- Preparing tax returns, audit and accounting work papers
- Tax return preparation
- CD-ROM computer software applications
- Other tasks assigned by the supervisor
- All intern work will be checked by someone else
Mentor Program
You will be assigned a “buddy” who will mentor you from day one. They will be there to assist you in your development.
Professional Development
As with all members of the Witt Mares team, accounting interns are encouraged and expected to develop professionally by:
- Participating in continuing professional education, offered in-house, depending on availability
- Accepting additional responsibility as allowed
- Representing the firm and promoting its image on campus
- Learning new technology the firm introduces into the work environment
