Scholarships
In addition to Witt Mares' participation in civic, charitable and community activities, we take an active role in supporting the educational needs of the accountants of tomorrow. Witt Mares is proud to sponsor the following Virginia scholarship programs that include both monetary recognition and internship opportunities for the recipients:
- The Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges Witt Mares Scholarship is awarded annually to a student enrolled at a Virginia college or university who has expressed an intent to obtain an accounting degree.
- The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants Educational Foundation Witt Mares Scholarship is given to junior level students in recognition of academic achievements while studying accounting.
- The Harold Carter Memorial Scholarship is given annually to a Christopher Newport University junior or senior majoring in accounting.
